Happy Birthday to Me

Happy Birthday to Me!!!  So if you didn’t already guess, today is my birthday.  I had such a great day.  It started out with taking a half day at work and having my mom, sister, niece and grandmother come up to hang out.  All of us, including Sariah, went and walked around the mall for awhile and let the girls play at the playground.  Then my sister bought me a cool Hurley sweatshirt jacket thingy from PacSun, I love it.  After we were done with the mall Ryan, Blake and my friend Michelle joined us at my favorite restaurant, Baja Cactus, for a great dinner.  I had such a fun day, thank you to everyone for making it a special birthday.

sliding

Amberlyn and I were planning on taking Sariah and Caleb to a toddler water area near her house today, but when we got there it was closed.  Luckily there was a playground there as well so we were able to let the kids run around for awhile.  This picture shows how Sariah has been going down slides recently.  I am not sure why she is doing this, she used to go sitting down.  Oh well, she has fun doing it either way.

a walk

After work today we took a trip to Walmart to pick up a few things, including this new hat for Sariah.  When we got home we let Sariah walk around outside our condo.  She had a good time picking the flowers and throwing the dirt.  She is our nature lover.

SeaLife

A few weeks ago my mom and I won free tickets to the SeaLife Aquarium at LegoLand.  Today we used the tickets to go the aquarium with Robin, Blake, Elodie, Mom and my Grandmother.  Elodie and Sariah had a good time looking at the fish and running around.  The place is sort of set up so that you walk in one direction from the beginning to the end, so it was kind of hard to make sure they were always running in the right direction.  There were a couple of petting pools where you could feel some different sea life.  This was fun for Sariah and a little stressful for me since I had to make sure she didn’t hurt the animals or drink the water.  They also had these places where you could get in a plexiglass bubble and be surrounded by fish (see above photo), Sariah loved it.  We had a great time and were in great company, thanks to the family for coming along.

Let them eat snake

Today we went down to Mark and Debbe’s property for some fun, a BBQ and an early birthday party for me.  While we were there Eric came across a snake (a harmless garter snake).  I will spare all the gross details and just say that it was cooked up and passed around for everyone to try.  I must say it really wasn’t bad, it taste like chicken.  Here is a picture of me feeding a piece to Sariah.  She actually liked and said “Yum” and wanted me to feed her more.  I only hope she will be this open to trying new foods as she gets older.

Watching Care Bears

Just like a few nights ago, Sariah was not happy when we put her down to bed tonight.  After 20 min of crying we decided we should take her out of her crib before she climbed out again.  She was in a good mood so we let her watch part of a CareBears movie while she stayed up a little longer.  Here is a picture of her and Daddy watching the movie together.  I don’t think Ryan was that into the movie.

feeding the baby

Sariah loves baby dolls and she loves her bottle.  So I guess it is only logical that she would put the two together.

sleep eating

The yard that Ryan and Eric keep the equipment they sell is up near Eric’s house, so sometimes Ryan stops by to take care of Sariah’s needs.  Today they stopped so he could feed Sariah lunch.  She had not taken a nap all morning and she feel asleep after only a few minutes of being in the high chair, so much for lunch.

sitting on the toys

We went over to Eric and Amberlyn’s house today for some dinner and American Idol.  For the most part Sariah and Caleb play pretty well together. They have their occasionally tiffs, but what would you expect with two toddlers.  Today Sariah was egging Caleb on as she was climbing on and sitting on one of the ramps for his cars.  She didn’t seem to mind that he kept trying to push her off and just kept climbing up.

no water

We really like the park at Wolf Creek and again today we went with the Hamptons and their kids.  The have a fountain at the park that the kids can play in, it is the first thing Sariah runs to when we get to the park.   Today I was very happy to see that there was no water running and that she and Kaylee could play in it without getting soaking wet.
